Discuss the Progressive Era and its influence on present USA politics.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Progressive era is the considered as the period of 1890s to 1920s and it started on the basis that it had to resolve the problems developed during those periods by corruption, urbanization and industrialization. So, progressive era had the objectives of social and political reforms, whose impact or influence can be strongly felt in present USA politics. People with voting rights prefer those candidates who have clean public and personal profile. It sets the focus and tone of the election. It makes parties and their proposed candidates to come up with an agenda to promote clean & corruption free economy, with jobs and prevent other social issues in the community. If it is not served then, people can turn against the candidate. For example, in the last US presidential election, a case of email leaks against Hillary Clinton made her lose from winning position. It only happened because people did not prefer anybody whose name is already getting into issues of scandalous nature. It happened due to influenced made by progressive era on US politics.
