Answer: Compassion gives us the ability to understand someone else’s situation and the desire to take action to improve their lives.For people who are dependent on others for help and support,compassion is often the most important factor in allowing them to lead fulfilling lives.
Compassionate care is medical and emotional care for patients with terminal disease,and may include hospice care.Expressing empathy and Compassion include the use of nonverbal cues and positive gestures such as open body language,listening,making eye contact,taking notes, or repeating what a patient says to confirm understanding.Positive gestures demonstrate empathy and reaffirm that the patient is being listened too.Study shows that when health care workers approach patients with compassion and kindness,those receiving the care often healed faster and felt less pain and anxiety.

5 Ps of Patient Care :During hourly rounds with patients,our nursing and support staff ask about the standard 5 Ps: potty,pain,position,possession and peaceful environment.When the team members ask about these five areas,it gives them the opportunity to proactively addresses the most common patient needs.
