C. An enzyme that catalyze redox reaction.
D. That catalyses the rearrangement of bonds with in a single molecule.
Dehydrogenase are a group of oxidoreductases that catlyses reversible reaction. They oxidise a substrate by reducing an electron acceptor and release H+ or transfer of 2H+ to NAD+,NADH, FAD or FMN+. Gain of oxygen from water, substrate may loss proton and free electrons on substrate form double bonds.Water moleule provide hydroxide ion to the substrate, adding oxygen and releasing protons. They are not directly participating in phosphorlation reaction but indirectly through NAD+ and NADP+. Dehydrogenase reduce electron acceptors such as NAD+ and NADP+ which are used in catabolic pathways for the breakdown of energy molecule to produce ATP.
