First, describe your personal creative thinking profile using the course text and "Tapping into Our Creative Thinking Skills to Manage Complex Problems" from this week’s Resources. You may find you identify with more than one style. Identify your first and second preferences and validate those preferences with examples that illustrate the two styles. In your descriptions, include insights you gained about your creative thinking preferences and skills.
Based on careful reflection on your current or most recent professional role or a role you would aspire to have, describe the aspects of your work that align well with your profile, as well as those that do not.
Explain how you, as a colleague or manager, will respect, learn from, and collaborate with individuals with similar or different creative thinking styles. Propose how organizations can best use differences in creative thinking to create sustainable, competitive advantages.
Critical thinking refers to the ongoing and constructive analysis of strong proof of the facts. In critical thinking one can assess and analyze other people's thinking and their thinking. A individual can question why things happen by logical thinking the way they are. There's a straightforward description of the right thing by logical thought before making a call. At the other hand, innovative thinking refers to a person's capacity to come up with new ideas. It takes a individual into a new already existing information configuration. One should pull up that which never before existed. Specific situations are treated in various ways. An problem is any situation that isn't satisfying, or even any query that is hard to find a answer. Four of the problem-solving methods include the method of design and critical reasoning skills, the method of design and technology and the quantitative approach and skills.
To start with, the goal of the design method is to find a solution to the problem. Workers today are not being pushed by their managers nor are they being told what they should be doing. All are supposed to use their brains, and logically thought. Can solve their problems independently or as a team. The decisions they make are then forwarded to the relevant bodies, such as employers, fellow-workers, the public and the legislature. Many employees facing challenges now find themselves struggling to make the correct choices or even cope with work-related issues. To make the right decisions and become a better worker who can understand even other employees who are insensitive to him, he needs to take certain actions, such as defining the problem, according to this model. Some of the obstacles confronting workers need only understand the existence of a problem, such as poor time management leading to low productivity. There is also a strong need to compile knowledge and search at potential solutions to what the problem could have induced. The independent person has investigated why clients can worry about him, and if the issue has been found, he may fix it objectively.
The assessment of the facts is another element from the design model that should make the worker challenge it before making any decision. There is a desire to learn where the information comes from, and if the source prejudices. In the above case, Client concern details needs to be challenged. In fact, the concept approach implies that the various consequences and solutions need to be taken into account. Evaluation of the positives and disadvantages of the foregone option must be performed by the worker before the eventual correct choice is introduced. The operator will then execute the program chosen to fix the issue with consumers or fellow employees. For all the missing goods the individual worker can want to pay. In the case of ignorance of fellow employees, all the proposals they have will be written down, because they can be fantastic market planning tactics that can push the enterprise to a higher stage. Without their review the ideas will not be missed at some point. Therefore, the individual worker should not ignore anything that the clients or co-workers have said to him since everyone has his ideological point of view.
Another critical and creative thinking style is the scientific method that is a combination of scientists' techniques for conducting natural phenomena investigations with provisions of an objective framework and concluding the investigation. There are a few steps in this approach which are given to enable an person to make the right decisions. Considering the source of knowledge, the steps taken in this style are different but a reasonable solution for the problem can be realized by careful follow-up of guidance.
In the experimental process, the first move is to pose a query to guide one's enquiry. Before asking the question an individual has to be specific about what he wants to solve. The next move will be to explore the subject where a individual knows about the phenomena and prior other persons investigations in the same field. It would bring more information to a single company's staff , for example, sugar business who ends up with shoddy goods e.g. watery sugar due to violation of procedures. From this point, after acquiring enough knowledge, the individual formulates a hypothesis, and he can know the cause of the phenomenon. The individual should then test the hypothesis by collecting the necessary data, using a well-planned method for conducting an experiment. The experiment to determine the significance of the theory is then done.
In conclusion, it is evident that it is possible to analyze some of the problems faced by people and end up being important. The outlined models should help us appreciate the various events in our work areas and appreciate each other, as well as any company customers. Some of the ideas we bring are helpful to the organization, but if they are not treated with analytical and imaginative thought, they can create quarrels among employees because they don't understand each other; if they are well evaluated, they can also help develop tight competitiveness. That can add a lot of benefit to the company if they are well executed.
