Prerequisite of formal review:
Formal reviews are used in the software testing. It is more structured and regulated process. Prerequisite of formal review:
User and system engineering team involves in both the process of functional configuration audit (FCA) and Physical configuration audit (PCA). Supporting reasons are given below:
Functional configuration audit (FCA):
This configuration auditing is done for checking that the developed software is according to the requirement criteria and if anything is missing then modifying the program according to the requirement. The developed software can be appropriate and according to the client requirement. In this auditing, client feedback is also considered as important. If the developed software gets the positive response from the user, then it is considered that the developed product is worthy and can fulfil the requirements of the user. So, for validating the user needs by using the Configuration Item (document) we need software developer and user for taking feedback.
Physical configuration audit (PCA):
It is the formal examination of the developed software against the technical document. the main purpose of the physical configuration audit is to revalidate or reverify the product after the completion of the FCA. PCA is one of the practices used in the software configuration management. In the software configuration management the team members are software developers or engineers, project manager, and user etc..
