What are the manager’s roles in a development system? Which
role do you think is most difficult for the typical manager? Which
is the easiest role? List the reasons why managers might resist
involvement in career management.
In the development system, managers play a huge role as it falls under their department to enable the development of their employees and implement structures, practices and projects that let them essentially do the exact same thing. The most difficult role that the managers have to play can be considered to be as the leader that needs to communicate to their employees about their performance as it can cause conflict between the manager and the employee and become a guiding principle in the workplace. The easiest role can be considered as designating roles and tasks between the employees and setting goal.
Some managers resist involvement in the career management because they may not agree to some of the steps involved in the process or the ways in which the employees will be trained or their views or goals that intersect with the scope of the company.
