Are negative real yields on Treasurys expected to change in the near future?

Solutions

Expert Solution

No, negative real yield on treasuries are not expected to change in the near future because it has been seen that Federal Reserve has a stance that they are going to keep the interest rates into the economy at almost zero level for a longer period of time, and since there will be a zero level of interest rate, it will be helping the economy in order to stimulate the demand and it can be seen that there is a revival in the economy even it is a slow recovery and it can be reflected upon the stock prices that are swinging wildly on the upside, so there will be a growth in inflation continuously.

Hence, it will be expected that the rate of inflation will be higher than the rate of nominal interest rate in the economy and it would be leading into a real negative yield for a longer period of time which is currently visible in the American economy so it will be leading to a negative real yield for a longer period of time because of the stance of the Federal Reserve.
