This is system engineering process. pls explain each step in this process.
Problem definition(Analysis), Conceptual Design(Synthesis, Preliminary design(Evaluation), Design decision(Decision), Detailed design(Action), Production, integration & test(verify)
1. Define problem-It's impossible to solve the problem if you don't fully understand what the problem even is. So, it makes sense that defining the problem would be the first step in the engineering design process. But understanding the problem isn't as simple as you might think. In the real world, it can involve not only hundreds of people, initial research and investigation, and complex systems, but also unexpected circumstances as well as issues of cost, time, and resources. The first step in defining a problem is to identify the needs of the people involved.
2.Conceptual design- Conceptual design synthesis is the core and starting phase of the design process. During this phase, the designers should deal with a large number of design resources to construct conceptual systems which meet the functional requirement. Therefore, a conceptual design synthesis approach based on series-parallel function unit structure is proposed as an assistant tool for the designers. This approach can help the designers completing the conceptual design synthesis of simple design missions or elementary functional modules of complex design missions with series-parallel-structured synthesis results.
3. Preliminary design-The preliminary design, or high-level design includes (also called FEED or Basic design), often bridges a gap between design conception and detailed design, particularly in cases where the level of conceptualization achieved during ideation is not sufficient for full evaluation. So in this task, the overall system configuration is defined, and schematics, diagrams, and layouts of the project may provide early project configuration. (This notably varies a lot by field, industry, and product.) During detailed design and optimization, the parameters of the part being created will change, but the preliminary design focuses on creating the general framework to build the project on.
4. Detail design-Following FEED is the Detailed Design (Detailed Engineering) phase, which may consist of procurement of materials as well. This phase further elaborates each aspect of the project/product by complete description through solid modeling, drawings as well as specifications.
5.Production- In this a batch of product is produced.
6.Test- Series of quality tests are conducted on the batch produced to ensure the required quality and functionability of the product
