5. Give an example each of a glycerophospholipid and a glycolipid. What are the products of their complete hydrolysis? Show on a hand-drawn diagram the action of each hydrolytic enzyme to release the products you mentioned?

Diagram of positions acted upon by the hydrolytic enzymes:
Example of GLYCERO PHOSPHOLIPID are
Phosphatidylethanoamines, phosphatidylcholines, phospholipids are examples of phosphatidates.
Example of GLYCOLIPIDS are
Galactolipids
Sulpholipids
Cerebrosides
Gangliosides
HYDROLYSIS OF GLYCOLIPIDS
Glycolipids are carbohydrate-attached lipids, which are
associated with cell membranes.Glycolipids yield glycerol, fatty
acid, and carbohydrates on hydrolysis.
HYDROLYSIS OF GLYCEROPHOSPHOLIPID
Glycerophospholipids are hydrolysed by a group
of enzymes called phospholipases. phospholipase catalyzes the
hydrolysis of ester bond forming free fatty acids and 2-acyl
lysoglycerophospholipids.
