The Diabetes mellitus is the disease characterized by the deficiency of insulin. The abnormality in insulin production affects the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids. My local health department is Florida Department of Health (FDOH)-Bay County. It utilizes several diabetes programming and services to prevention of diabetes. For example, health education is the major program, which is conducting by the FDOH. The National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP) for prevention of Type –II diabetes is a major program funding by the CDC.

Thus, all these programs explain to the diabetes patients about the treatment of Diabetes mellitus and states that it majorly involves the behavioral modifications. Proper diet and exercise plays a crucial role in maintaining the blood glucose levels. As the diabetic individual has a high glucose in the blood, the fiber-rich and low-carbohydrate diet is necessary to control the glucose in blood.
So, feel that the services provided are sufficient to treat diabetes.
