Aging is characterized by changes in appreance such as a gradual reduction in height and weight due to loss of muscle and bone mass. A lower metabolic rate longer reaction times, declines in certain memory functions. Physical changes related to normal aging are not disease. We all change physically, as we go older. Some systems slowdown, while other lose their fine turning. In human some functions like hearing and flexibility begin to deteriorate early in life.
Brain and central nervous system also changes. Without illness, a person can expect high mental competence well past age 80. Physical reactions are slowed due to increased lag time of neurons transmitting informations, flowing manifest itself in the Learning process. There is neuronal loss in the brain throughout life. There is some evidence that allthough aomey neuronal loss occurs with age, many neurons have increased dendrite growth which may compensate neuronal loss in some areas of the brain. These have impact on cognitive abilities and functional abilities
Muscles and bones loss the elasticity of connective tissue can cause pain and impair mobility. There are no way to prevent these changes. Demineralization and bones become more fregile. Maintain bone Health through diet, exercise and getting adequate rest. Always consider medication side-effects then assessing mobility concern. The compilation can be managed by encourage use of assitive devices is indicated, modify environment to reduce the fall risk and encourage activity- takewalks etc.
