In 75-100 words, explain: how does trauma impacts physical health?
Ans: Trauma impacts the body of an individual by developing negative impacts such as paleness, lethargy, racing heart, fatigue, poor concentration, loss consciousness during the speaking. The main symptoms of trauma are anxiety and depression. Traumatic stress produces a response to a different part of the brain (Amygdala, Hippocampus, and prefrontal cortex).
Trauma stress increases the level of cortisol and norepinephrine to subsequent stressors. This results in acute and chronic changes in neurochemical systems and the mentioned part of the brain, which causes long term changes in brain functions. Physical trauma injuries are usually visible and can be measurable like trauma-related physical pain, sometimes it also increases blood pressure, and diabetics patients not able to control their sugar level. Traumatic events can occur in anyone's life. So every person should learn skills to gain healing, and take therapeutic counseling.
