The Equal Employment Opportunities Act of 1972 - Does it Created Unfair Practices with Criminal Justice System?

Before Getting into debate, Let us understand what that dealt with and why it was created?

It was an amendment to the title VII of Civil Right Act(1964) to eliminate the descrimination existed those days in terms of National origin, Race, Color and Religion. Since the leaders found injustice in the system, they introduced this system.

So, the Motive behind this amendment is to introduce fair practices and it served the intention. How?

1. Equal Opportunities for all American Workers

2. Workers from Small firms (upto 15 Workers) also benefited

3. Employees provided with right to file lawsuit against employer if descriminated

4. Employers forced to stay away from Descrimination and focus on end result and their micro economy

5. Though like any new Improvment, this amendment also have created initial hiccups like resistance to acceptance and preoccupied thoughts and philosophies about slavery, workers and labourers, But those intial resistance did not last longer

6. By way of giving opportunities to those descriminated earlier, Employers benefited by unearthing whole new human potential and the long suppressed human potential has the ability to explode when opportunity stikes, So it added boost to economy through employers.

7. Long term Impact of this amendment:

  • Improvement in Work Culture
  • Improvement in Employee - Employer relationship
  • Newly identified talent pool helped to offset talent shortfall
  • Newly identiftied potential aided economic development
  • Improvement in Income parity and promoted equal distribution of wealth
  • Improved cash flows increased spending and aided economic recovery while lifting the life style of underprevilaged (Descriminated and now undescrimanated)
  • Helped to improve overall improvement of GDP of America

Summary:

As originally intended to creat this Amendment, it served its purpose of mutual well being and preserving humanitarian thoughts. Yet those who stuggle to come out of blocked mindset, might have struggled to implement it. But when we look back after 48 years it is quite obvious that the amendment certainly created Fair Practices and helped the society a lot.
