Do the rays reflected from the plane mirror obey the Law of Reflection? Explain.
Law of reflection :-
1) Reflected ray lies in the plane formed by incident ray and the normal drawn at the point of incident; and the two rays are on both side of normal.
2) Angle of incident is equal to angle of reflection.
Reflection of light from the plane mirror :-
As you can see in above diagram light ray incident on a plane mirror and get reflected back in the same medium.
As shown in diagram both incident and reflected ray are lies in the same plane and both rays are on both side (opposite side ) of normal.
Aslo incident ray AB is making angle with the normal N and reflected ray BC also making same angle with the normal N. practically if we measure both angle of incident and angle of reflection we will found that both angle are same.
Hence from above point we can say that the rays reflected from the plane mirror obey the Law of Reflection.
