What you think about it .. what were the issues facing the elections?

Expert Solution

In my opinion economy and terrorism are the main two issues for voters facing the elections. The gross inequality and economic stagnation are experienced by majority of the U.S. population. The economic issues are spread over household income, employment, taxes, and other related concerns. There has been no meaningful recovery in income of the household because the wages have been stagnant since the recession. Moreover, issue of internal security and terrorism will be important while voting. In the Healthcare, Hillary Clinton prefers to continue with Obama care but Donald Trump wants to repeal it. Trump wants to reduce trade deficits and easing trade regulations to boost employment creation in the country.

In 2016 elections Republicans have been supporting economic liberalism: free trade, free markets, and open immigration. They principled advocates trade legislations such as the North American Free Trade Agreement, recent trade promotion authority, bank deregulation that lead to the financial crisis of 2008 and tax reduction for the wealthy. They favor for undermining the power of labour unions and reducing social services for the poor. These policies run counter to the working class interests. Because of these policies Donald J. Trump won the Electoral College with 304 votes compared to 227 votes for Hillary
