Think about Psychology and what you know about the field/study to date. Try to think of two or more ways that Psychology might be used to investigate a problem (whether it is something an individual is facing or something in a larger group/society). Describe the problem and at least two ways that Psychology might be used to investigate it.
I got to know many things about psychology which are very useful for solving problems of life. Psychology is the scientific study of the functioning of human mind and how it influences behavior. The study of psychology allows us to acquire a range of different knowledge and skills, and to understand working of human mind and how it allows the implementation of different behaviours in different conditions. Psychology plays a major role in our daily life. Study of psychology is important for mental health care, education, and testing of mental conditions.
I have faced a problem where psychology is used in two ways to investigate the problem. At Somanpalli village, near my hometown Gadchiroli(India), people were facing water crisis from several years. Most of the people were from scheduled tribes. There were several problems because of this water crisis. They were fighting with each other for the water. I found this issue quite disappointing . I wrote several letters to government officials of water supply department but no one shown any interest. Then I filed a RTI . I felt that socially weaker tribe people would not fought unless I provide them the leadership. I used the principles of social leadership. I guided and motivated them to be positive and assured them for success. Also I tried to motivate them by using cognitive psychological skills. I used RTI as instrument for achieving success. I used Expectancy theory of motivation for motivating villagers and it worked well in this social setting also. We got success after fighting for almost 6 months. In this way, I used social leadership, cognitive psychological skills, and expectancy theory of motivation for solving this social problem.
