Strategic envelope

• It is a method where a large number of workers are arranged to answer the incoming calls as well as to perform particular task in the organization.
• Strategic envelope describes a companies scope of innovation efforts. Therefore the firm must define strategic envelope.
• Example : Suppose an electronic company Samsung launched their new screen that is so flexible as it can be rolled up like a newspaper . This invention is clear and brief and it is a solution of the problem of portability. So here the strategic envelope describes the scope of Samsung's new innovation.

Four sources of CSFs

1. Industry : Many companies working in same industry might have common CSFs . A industry will have unique and specific CSFs. Therefore different industries will have different CSFs. For example ,call center, retail, health care and education sectors,etc are different.Each organizations will have their own goals,based on that ,will be their industry standards.
2. Competitive strategy and industry position : The position in the market place and the method used for gaining the market share leads to CSFs. Every firms in a industry will not have same CSFs. Current position of a firm in a industry , it's resources, strategies and capabilities decide it's CSFs.
3. Environmental factors : CSFs of an organization can be created by economic, demographic and political changes . Environmental factors are not under the control of organization. These environmental factors should be considered by the organization for developing CSFs.
4. Temporal factors : Temporal factors are short-term situations , generally crises .CSFs are important for an organization but it is temporary .Thus temporal factors are short-term or temporary.
