-what could go wrong:we should know all the details of potential ways we could make errors such as compromising on patient's safer ,medical errors,unable to supply medical requirements (risk identification)
-what errors are more likely to happen (risk analysis)
-ranking the risk-how much of damage can that risk can cause(risk analysis)
-what can be done to prevent risks (risk control)
-ways to reduce the risk potential (risk control)
-who are responsible for the given risks(risk monitoring)
-The five components risk management are:
-risk identification:what risks can be done to me,my patient,my institute
-risk analysis : what are the chances of risk to occur, which type of risk are mostly likely to occur and what is the worst that could happen
-risk control : here we can get the opportunities of how to avoid risk, prevent risk, reduce risk.Based on risk analysis,we can implement strategies for risk control
-risk finance : here we finance the losses that occurred due to errors
-risk treatment : when loss occurs, manage the risk by determining who responsible ,may be filed to recover damages,when and how this will be monitored
-risk management program also includes educating staff members and nurses about risks,learning from past mistakes, evidence based practices, providing counselling on how to manage risks, competence assessments....
