I will add 10 ml KCL ( 1 ml KCL = 2 mEq so 10 x 2 = 20 )
The bag will last about 8 hours
For one day I need 3 bags ( 24 / 8 = 3 )
Weight of dextrose in each bag is 50 g in 1000 ml bag
Infusion rate = 125 ml / hr (1000 / 8 = 125 )
27 -
I will add 2 ml of gentamycin (1 ml = 40 mg so 40 x 2 = 80)
Bag will last for 8 hrs
For one day iI will set up 3 bags
Infusion rate in ml = 12.5 ml / hr ( 100 / 8 = 12.5 )
Gtts / min = 2.083 gtts / min (12.5 x 10 / 60 = 2.083)
28 -
I will spend up a total of 3 doses ( 24 / 3 = 3 )
I will add 0.5 ml to each bag (1 ml = 1000 mg ie 1 gram 1 / 2 = 0.5)
I need a total of 1.5 vials / day
29 -
I will spend up a total of 4 doses/day ( 24 / 6 = 4 )
From 1 ml = 500 mg vial I add 0.5 ml per bag and from 1ml = 1g vial I add 0.25 ml per bag
In the case of 1 gram vial, I will use 1 vial per day, on the other hand, I will use 2 vials of 500 mg vial per day
30 -
From 500 mg / 1 ml vial I will add 1 ml to each bag, whereas from 1 g / ml vial I will add 0.5 ml to each bag
IV rate would be 200 ml/hr
Each bag will last for 30 minutes
