What are your thoughts about how you would provide care for the family members after the death of the child?
The loss of an offspring could be a devastating experience for the family which will put parents in danger for adverse mental and physical health during grief.
The bereavement experience of family is an adaptive process and ongoing professional support is also required for vulnerable families.
The intensity of parental grief is believed to result to the close and enduring relationships parents have with their children. behavioral symptoms shown by the family are -Confusion about one’s role in life or diminished sense of self,Difficulty accepting the loss,Avoidance of reminders Bitterness or anger associated with the lossof the fact of the loss,Difficulty moving on with life,
Before PICU discharge, provide support and resources for extreme distress (social work, mental state specialists, and spiritual support). Have mechanism to supply support for unexpected ‘moments’ of crisis (e.g., important anniversary, holidays, and child’s birthday).
parents through are affecyed both physically and mentally. there can be decline of physical and mental health.anxiety ,depression can affects the parents mind due to the grief of lossing their child.
*the parents require with their childs body,hence it should not be hurried .emotional support should be provided in form of comforting
