12 mL/hr explain
Particulars provided :
medication composition - Heparin 25000 units in 500 ml D5W.
Infusion needed - 600 units/hr
To calculate - Infusion rate in ml/hr.
25000 units of heparin are present in 500 ml of the preparation. Therefore 1ml of preparation contains = 25000÷ 500 = 50 units.
