Describe the common athletic injuries of the pelvis, hip, and
thigh.
The most common athletic injuries of the pelvis includes:-
A pelvic avulsion fracture occurs when a part of a hip bone breaks and tears away. It can happen after sudden or forceful contraction of the muscle. The superior and inferior pubic rami can be fractured due to shear forces like falling from a height. This can result in the ligament disruption.
The most common athletic injuries of hip includes:-
Piriformis syndrome results in the inflammation of soft tissue and muscle spasm with resulting to a nerve compression.Peritrochanteric pain syndrome includes a pain on the side of the hip and thigh region.Labral tears makes the shoulder at an increased risk for looseness and dislocation.Sacroiliitis is a condition where the sacroiliac joints are inflamed.
The most common athletic injuries of thigh includes:-
Hamstring strain occurs when one or more of hamstring muscles gets stretched too far and starts to tear. Quadriceps muscle runs in the front of our thigh. When such muscles are overstretch or pull quadriceps strain occurs.
