I am apply the job as a vitamin at the body company. I am an essential mineral. I should be taken in limited amount but I have many functions in the body starting from physical and psychological functions. I am required for many different jobs, including keeping the bones, muscles, heart and brain working properly. I am also important for making enzymes and hormones. I am “CALCIUM”. The three main functions of Calcium in the body company are as follows:
1. It is important for health and functioning of nerves and muscle tissue.
2. It supports proper function of the blood vessels, helps in clotting of blood
3. It is needed to build and fix bones and teeth.
The other nutrients with which calcium works best are phosphorus, magnesium and Vitamin D. All these nutrients help calcium to absorb and work better for our body functioning.
Milk is a good source of phosphorous and magnesium, which helps the body absorb and use calcim. Further, Vitamin D is needed to help our body use calcium and helps to build and maintain bones and milk is also fortified with Vitamin D.
The best sources of calcium includes:
1. Milk, cheese and other dairy products.
2. Green leafy vegetables.
3. Soya drink with added calcium
4. Bread and anything made with fortified flour
5. Fishes such as sardines and pilchards.
Too much of calcium in the blood can weaken the bones, create kidney stones and interfere with how the heart and brain works. Hypercalcemia is usually a result of overactive parathyroid glands.
If there is calcium deficiency, the complications include eye damage, an abnormal heatbeat and osteoporosis. It also result in losing of bone mass, bones become weak and porous.
