Community is place where a group of people who live in a certain
locality and interact with one another while sharing their interest
and goals. In short it is a sense of identity.
CONCEPT OF COMMUNITY : it can be divided into 4
such as
   1) Systems Perspective :
- In this, the community consist of different parts that
concentrate on various activities and interest
 
- all this work under certain boundaries in order to meet the
community need.
 
- it is well connected and share responsibility for identifying
problems and solving it to improve well being.
 
2) Social Perspective :
- it focus on social and political networks that connects
individuals and organization
 
- it enable us to identify the high risk group, behavior pattern
and leadership.
 
3) Virtual Perspective :
- internet is the center of attraction in this  
 
- as today individuals relay more and more on computer medicated
communication to meet people and make various decision.
 
4) Individual Perspective :
- It focus on the people
 
- as they can develop a sense of belonging to more than one
community
 
- even though it change over time , it affect the participation
in community activities
 
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TOP-DOWN AND GRASS-ROOT COMMUNITY
ORGANIZATIONS:
1) Top-Down Community Organization:
- It is initiated by a person outside the community
 
- it is relay on professional leadership
 
- structured around them like plan.
 
2) Grass-Root Community Organization:
- It is initiated by an affected person/ a community member
itself
 
- it is a value based process
 
- where the people are brought together to act in interest of
their community.
