Transcultural nursing care refers to the care which is offered to a patient in accordance to their cultural beliefs and practices without instilling other cultures or personal views and suggestions .

The newborn and the mother are generally bond to their cultural practices.It is very important to be aware of how long the mother has to rest after delivery .Usually 40 days of rest is a must where all the world are carried by family members .Tying Deer's eye to the new born is their beliefs that it will remove negativity,red string to treat hiccups. Encouraging the family members or mothers in the family to support new mom in breastfeeding .They usually provide advice to new mom. To follow their dietary believes and practice .When all these are provided it is the cultural competent care by a healthcare professional like a nurse. Simultaneously respecting their diversity gives them a sense of optimistic thought and have a quality motherhood .
