Three Parts of a Speech

Every speech consists of three major parts. The first part is the opener or introduction, where the speaker gets the attention of the audience and introduces the subject matter.

The second part is the largest. It is the body and consists of the content of the speech. The final part of the speech is the conclusion, which wraps up what has been explained in the speech.

Opener

The opener or introduction of the speech starts with comments to get the attention of the audience, gets their interest in the subject of the speech, and segues into the body of the speech.

Body of speech

The body of your speech consists of the content and information you are trying to present to the audience.

Typically, the body consists of three major parts, including sub points, examples, arguments, and stories. They should follow the requirements for achieving the purpose of your speech.

Conclusion

In the conclusion, you summarize the points made in the body of the speech and then make some closing remark.

If the purpose of the speech was to actuate the audience you can make a call to action. If the purpose of the speech was to entertain, you can close my stating an amusing remark, for example
