Professional development plans are the methodologies that a professional adopts in order to achieve growth, success ,progress and stay relevant and updated in his or her area of professional practice.

The three important components of a Professional Development Plan are assessing and identifying the field/area/goal in development , identifying,taking up and overcoming the challenges in achieving the goal and arranging resources and support for the same.

The three examples of a professional development plan are:

1.Attending workshops and conferences:

explanation: Growth is a dynamic process.Knowledge and information are always evolving.Staying updated and informed  is important for professional development. Attending workshops and conferences helps one to keep abreast with the latest researches and their result,new technologies, recent advances, new skills and contributes to professional development.

2.Attending continuing education programs ,focussed strategic skill development and learning programs,certifications,additional degree programs.

Networking is very important because it helps to gather information and form professional/social contacts. Knowing more people helps a person to have more information about the field in which he/she is working,the latest developments in the field,the trends of development,Information about individual experiences, their successes and failures, practical management tools used by others and all this information forms the basis of learning and growth. Networking helps to form contacts and have a social/ professional presence.

The two reasons why we must network are:

1.To stay informed about latest and best professional practices,current trends,others'experiences and to stay updated and relevant:

explanation: Networking is important to obtain information and keep oneself updated with the latest.The information that is gathered by a strong social network is of a diverse quality and adds to the pool of knowledge. One continues to grow with the assimilation of others' experiences and knowledge and adding them to his/her own.

2.To connect, foster a feeling of belongingness and develop mutual gain relationships with peers and professional community to influence and drive both personal and collective professional growth and progress.
