Small business owners also have broad dreams, ambitions and aspirations for the future. When your workplace is driven, reaching those goals will make you feel invigorating and pleasurable, rather than stressful and burdensome. There are a variety of motivational approaches in the workplace that may appeal to you, depending on your personal preferences, your team and your industry. Consistency is the secret to producing results and creating momentum, so pick a hypothesis or two, and then stick with it long enough to observe the effects. No matter which of the motivational strategies you want to use in the workplace, if morale and morality are high, you will experience many benefits in your small business.

Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs is the most practical and relevant at motivating employees.

One of the best ways to start evaluating and applying motivational ideas and models in the workplace is Maslow's hierarchy of needs. This is perhaps the most popular of all kinds of motivational strategies in the workplace. Maslow 's needs are a pyramid with physiological needs at the base and self-actualization needs at the top. In your small business , this means looking at your team's physiological, health, and belonging needs before you add items like recognition or coaching. Offer a living wage and make sure the workers have what they need to take care of their wellbeing and know like they are part of it. Introduce client picnics, wellness benefits and financial referrals

Your workers spend a great deal of their time working in the workplace. So aim to make the workplace look as nice and appealing as possible. When you build a fun environment where it is inviting and relaxed, the employees will be more than happy to go to work every day. Everybody needs to be remembered for what they have done, regardless of whether it was a work or a personal accomplishment. Recognizing a job well done by top management can mean more to an employee than you think. Don't forget to offer credit when credit is due.

There's going to be moments when it takes more than just a slap on the back. Seek to offer easy rewards while rewarding hired employees. It doesn't have to be cash incentives all the time; it would be enough to have easy stuff like a week of free parking at the workplace. Employee bonuses may also be part of the company 's benefits. Everybody interacts at work, so that is probably the best thing you can do for your employee. But it can be the most complicated one, too. Spend a short time each day to have a conversation with your employees; address problems from complaints to ideas.
