Yes, I believe trade Unions are still required and are important aspect of workplace. Below are the reasons:
· They help in collective bargaining on behalf on employees. With the growing pressure on bottom line, it becomes essential to a have a body to put the demands and avoid exploitation
· They help to improve workplace safety and adopt ergonomic practices. With changing time, the human beings ability are also changing. The Unions help to put up things in right perspective and discuss with management
· They help in job security. In current time, organizations are becoming more dehumanized. So, for security, Unions have an important role to play
Yes, a registered Union can acquire organizational rights under below section:
· Section 12 = Access to place of work
· Section 13 = Charge levies from union members
The official members of union can enter the work premise to talk to their members and also can organize meeting to discuss on matter at employer’s premise but after office hours. Also, they can deduct levies from employees who are members of union.
