Answer 1

1) I like to lead by example, I lead from front by taking actions, demonstrating what to be done and keeping my team organised. I facilitate open and free communication to bring out the best from every member of my team. As a nurse leader I took the initiative to solve the problem. There was a patient who complained of bed being uncomfortable owing to his pain, I immediately investigated and requested a new bed from the maintenance.

2) As a nurse leader I made sure that the hospital's environment is calm and functioning smoothly. It was my basic aim to create a hospital facility where patients are respected and empowered by educating them to make decisions about their treatment. I also made sure to continually check on my staff patient care feedback and any concerns that they may have.

3)As a nurse leader my main goal was preventing patients harm by empowering my team to be the first line of defense against patient harm. I made sure of appropriate staffing and other resources are in place to achieve safe care and optimal outcome.

4) As a nurse leader I got to learn about my strengths and weakness. I learned how to manage relations, empower others and resolve conflicts. I learned how ethics play a significant role in proffessional decision making. I also learned that it is important to respect patients, co workers and to always maintain a positive attitude.
