2. Provide some evidence (data) of success and some evidence of failure of our national sustainability public policy (use food, or water, or air, or solid waste or energy as an example…. not all of them). What is your general conclusion? Do we need more rules? More enforcement? More awareness? More money? More responsible consumers? More responsible producers? retailers? Suppose you can’t do all of that at once (you can’t !), which path would you pick first? Explain.
The concept is in reference with the journal article
"Environmental Sustainability: A Case of Policy Implementation Failure?" where proper evidences were providd that there's a failure of national sustainable policy.
Here the failure actually resulted due to the following reasons which include
Incomplete specification of aims or objectives, Inappropriate agency for implementation, Conflicting objectives within or between policies, A failure to communicate with the affected community etc. The failure can be accounted for the mentioned reasons.
The conclusion of the evidence is that only these issues were resolved, then every desired positive outcome can be identified on the whole. Yes, the rulesare to be altered, the consumer must change their perspective, producers must act responsible, more money is required etc. As all cannot be done at a single stretch, first the rules can be altered on prducers as well as consumers on the whole to proceed further.
