Ans 1 -Eating and substance abuse is a problem widespread in high school and colleges in adolescent age group.10 out of 100 students are involved in such abuses in high school and in colleges this number inncreases to 20 -25 per 100 students.

Ans 2-A vast gender difference in rate of this problems is noticed.80-90 percent of abusers in india are males.A less proportion of females are found to be abusers.

Ans3 -These problems begin mainly with depression due studies, personal affairs and society environment.Age factor also plays a major role in these, adolescent age group children are more inclined to try such things for fun and then eventually develop a habit of such abuse.

Ans 4-Parents and educators can play a major role in preventing such problems.They should speak to the children about depression problems and ill effects of abusing problem openly.They shouldn't pressurize children for results and expectations as it can lead to depression and eventually drug and other abuse. Educators must carry out counseling session for children to create awareness among children. And rehabilitation of child who is addicted must be done.
