ANGINA PECTORIS is a disease of the heart caused by the heart muscle when they dont get enough blood supply . There is acute or chronic chest pain .

Types of ANGINA PECTORIS :

Stable angina is the most common type. It happens when the heart is working harder than usual.
Unstable angina is the most dangerous. It does not follow a pattern and can happen without physical exertion.
Variant angina is rare. It happens when you are resting.

NURSING DIAGNOSIS : Altered tissue perfusion related to narrowing of the coronary artery(ies) and associated with atherosclerosis, spasm, or thrombosis .

NURSING MANAGEMENT :

1. Asses the level of pain - To find the onset , type .duration .

2. Provide bed rest -

3. Administer Oxygen

4. Administer medication prescribed by the doctor - Nitroglycerin ( Rapid vasodilator effect lasts 10–30 min and can be used prophylactically to prevent, as well as abort, anginal attacks.)

5. cardic monitoring .

6. Health eductaion regarding deficient knowledge - To prevent further attacks

7. Anxiety related to situation - Administer sedatives, tranquilizers, as indicated.

Rationale: May be desired to help patient relax until physically able to reestablish adequate coping strategies.
