Obesity is a very biggest problem now in the society. Obese means that a person ’s weight is greater than what’s considered healthy for his or her height.

It is causes several major health issues like diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, etc.practice good nutrition in life style is important to main normal body weight and to reduce risk for health issues.

There are lot of intervention is to prevent obesity..

  1. Firstly need of individual advice for prevention of weight gain and management of overweight.
  2. Carry out and review daily food diary intake ,( calorie intake , types and amounts of food ,eating habits.)
  3. Formulate a eating plan with correct nutrition requirements.
  4. Identify the realistic increment goals for weekly weight loss.
  5. Weigh periodically and obtain appropriate body measurements.
  6. Follow current activity plan and plan progressive exercise.
  7. Avoid tension at mealtimes and not eat too quickly.
  8. Advice to eat only at a table or designated eating place and avoid standing while eating.
  9. Reassess calorie requirements every 2-4week.
  10. Consult with dietitian to determine calorie and nutrient requirements for individuals weight loss.
  11. Provide drugs if indicates eg..appetite suppresant drugs,hormonal therapy, vitamin and mineral supplements.
  12. Surgical interventions if needed (gastric partitioning or bypass.)

Implementation of these interventions are really will help to maintain or reduce body weight and also to maintain or restore best possible health status.
