Answer1 :Laura should respect Rebecca's perspective in this situation in order to prevent her from experiencing anxiety due to unmet goals and for her psychological well being and peformance related self esteem needs.
Discussion:Respect for a client's goals and desires and tailoring the therapy to meet these needs form the basis of a successful individualized Health Care plan.Incomplete education can decrease the confidence of an individual and elevate the subconscious anxiety levels in an individual. There is psychological need for self esteem which every individual has. It is this need for self-esteem that is motivating Rebecca to complete the education. As a support worker for Rebecca in helping her with the severe anxiety disorder, Laura must not force her views on Rebecca and must respect her need for self esteem and her desire to complete the education. She can discuss in detail with Rebecca the actual factors at the University which are likely to cause her stress and the anxiety. She can further discuss with Rebecca the frequency with which she thinks she would need support and counselling therapy once she is back to University.She could also check with Rebecca if. the mode of therapy she would prefer would be in person or through digital technology (evaluation)and if she thinks anything additionally to that existing would help her recover best.(treatment planning)
