Growth of urban infrastructure played an important role in the development of cities and urban areas. This showed the overall development of the country. The major infrastructure challenges faced in urban areas are management of drinking water and public transportation and waste management. Some of them are very crucial in nature, like;
Financing; most of the infrastructure are capital intensive oriented and the funding for this needs are most important. The investment for this infrastructure can be divided into public and private. Essential sectors for public needs were financed by government itself.
Land acquisition; important infrastructure development which compensated fixed in terms of registered value. Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation & Resettlement Bill will be able to tackle the land acquisition favourably.
Environment Impact Assessment; safeguards regarding environment and its guidelines is one of the major reason for delay in infrastructure projects.
Poor pre-construction planning; adverse effect of various impediments like land acquisition, statutory approvals, delayed financial closure etc. made the weak condition of pre-construction planning.
Solution for this challenges are; (i) there must be efficiency in conducting the environmental potential concessionaire, (ii) necessary condition behind the improvement in the investment climate, (iii) development of satellite cities for mass transport system make control over the migration of people to urban areas, (iv) environment clearance programme through single window statutory (v) effective coordination of fast project roll.
The efficiency in these solutions will enhance the future development and well being and also protect the sustainable development. Urban infrastructure should be maintained for the overall development. There is a rising population level in urban countries can be seen in developing countries. The reason behind this is the industrialisation, globalisation and the efficiency in the availability of different development measures. So the infrastructure management will make an assurance among the people regarding the development policies. Restoring the infrastructure development in urban areas is one of the most important aims of all the policy makers in state and central.
