what type of new dangers are introduced with self driving cars ? i.e interface hackers ?
Solution –
Dangers associated with self-driving cars
Road Accidents –
Driving a vehicle on a road involves many variables that can’t be incorporated in the programming of the vehicles.
The current infrastructure of road network that we are having not necessarily is healthy for automated vehicles. Proper special type of marking, signage, lanes etc are required for smooth functioning of such vehicles which is not available throughout the country.
Driving on roads are highly unpredictable, such vehicles increase the reaction time to almost 15 sec where as human have less than a second as reaction time.
Also, they won’t be able to function properly during storms, snowfall or fog etc.
Hacking –
At the end of the day self-driving vehicles are just another computer operated machine which can be easily hacked and can compromise the safety of the driver and passengers.
Hacking can also lead to losing precious personal information (addresses, credit card information etc.) that is saved in the computer to hackers and can be used in so many wrong ways. Even a terrorist can take control of vehicles and use it as a weapon.
System might experience some glitch or malfunction with can bring a vehicle to a sudden stop or accelerate and can cause accidents.
Increased exposure to radiation –
These vehicles work on a well laid over used system of WIFI, GPS, Bluetooth etc. which increase the exposure to these types of radiations leading to problems like migraines, headaches etc. which is not good for health.
