What is the relative localization of microtubules vs. actin?
Does the localization of the two proves overlap?
Microtubules composed of alpha, beta and gama tubulin are located in the central or medullay portion of a cell. Actin filament or microfilament are distributed beneath plasma membrane, in periphery of a cell. They are enriched in microvilli and often form a mesh network.
Localization of two proves don't overlap within a cell. However during cell division or vesicular transport microtubules (myosin, dynein, kinesin) act as motor and associate with actin filament to achieve cellular movement.
