The two jobs I had were
1. ONLINE
TUTOR: The work here was to teach mathematics to
the international students of UK via audio conferencing and the
kids were very young like 4-10 years old.
The job was full time ie 8 hours of job.
- SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM
BEST: The work here was of teaching so the
skills required was the basic mathematics as without having the
knowledge of the subject you are going to teach , you look like a
fish without water because they were kids and were there to learn
something and what would a person teach if he himself is
unaware.
- AGILITY, PROBLEM SOLVING,TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:
All the three skills were really neccessary for the success .
Agility was important as the session continues
only for 45 minutes so you must nee to be quick and good along with
that, Problem solving was important because first
i need to solve the questions and only if i know how to do them , i
will be able to teach the same question,Technology
skills were required because sometimes you may face the
network errors and there is nobody around you so you need to
troubleshoot yourself.
- SKILLS YOU LEARN: I first of all
improved my basic mathematics skills, then i also
improved my communication skills as i had to
interact with international kids,I learnt being
patient as it is yor job and you are just an
employee.
- HOW LEARNING THESE SKILLS HELPED IMPROVING YOU ABILITY
TO WORK: After having good command over mathematics i was
able to make the kid understand easily, communication skills helped
me to interact in a better manner and petient helped me when i had
to wait for the entire 45 minutes for the kid and he is
absent.
DID THESE SKILLS INCREASE MY HUMAN CAPITAL: Yes
these skills have definately increased my human capital
2. CUSTOMER
SERVICE: The work here was to call the customers
and try to convince them, also i need to give the customer service
to them.
The job was part time
- SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM BEST: The work here
was of interacting with the customers so the skill required was the
communications. As the way you communicate make a very good impact
on the customer.
- AGILITY, PROBLEM SOLVING,TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:
All the three skills were important for achieving success .
Agility was important as the targets are given so
you need to be quick enough to complete the targets on
time,problem solving was important as you face
different types of people daily and different techniques are
required to convince them so it requires problem solving as they
may ask you anythig, Technology skills were
important for the purpose of troubleshooting.
- SKILLS YOU LEARN: The skills i learnt were
interpersonal skills, being patient, control short temperedness,
cooperation.
- HOW LEARNING THESE SKILLS HELPED IMPROVING YOU ABILITY
TO WORK: Improving my interpersonal skills helped me to
interact in a better manner, patient helped me to understand the
customer, controling anger helped me respect the customers and
cooperation helped me to assist the customers and providing them
the support they require.
- DID THESE SKILLS INCREASE MY HUMAN CAPITAL:
Yes ofcourse, these skills did increase my human capital.
