Insulin is a hormone that promotes the movement of glucose to many types of cells , thereby lowering glucose concentrations. Propose a mechanism by which this may occur using the knowledge of cell membrane transport.
A proposed mechanism by which insulin might promote the movement of glucose to many cells is by binding to cell receptor which in turn generate some secondary messengers. These secondary messengers will act on the nuclear receptors and increase the production of proteins that will eventually lead to the formation of glucose transporter proteins, hence will enhance the movement of glucose in the cells
