the heme catabolism responsible for brown coloration of human feces is known as what?
Step 1
Malaria can be defined as the life-threatening disease. The mode of transmission is due to the bite of an infected Anopheles mosquito, which results in the release of Infected mosquitoes in the bloodstream that carries the Plasmodium parasite.
Step 2
During the blood stage, the female Anopheles mosquito introduces sporozoites into the human host. These Sporozoites then now infect the liver cells and they developed into mature Schizonts which ruptures itself and releases merozoites. After the multiplication inside the liver, the parasite will have asexual multiplication inside the erythrocytes. Merozoites now infect red blood cells.
The trophozoites(ring stage) will now mature into schizonts, which rupture releasing gametocytes. The gametocytes, microgametocytes which are male, and macrogametocytes which is female are now ingested by an Anopheles mosquito during its blood meal. Inside the mosquito’s stomach, the microgametes fuse with macrogametes producing zygotes. The zygotes will be changed into motile and elongated forms that enter into the midgut wall of the mosquito and develop into oocysts there. The oocysts then grow, rupture, and will release sporozoites, which enter into the mosquito’s salivary glands. The introduction of these sporozoites into a new human host will start the new malaria life cycle.
Plasmodium spreads malaria when a mosquito bites an infected person and then becomes infected with the disease, now this infected mosquito bites a noninfected person. Now the parasites will enter into the bloodstream and reach the liver and damage the liver cells. At the time of parasite maturity, they will leave the liver and travels to red blood cells and destroy them.
Step 3
The attacked RBC-s in the ring stage by the malarial parasite feeds on the heme of the hemoglobin of the blood. The end product of heme catabolism is a tetrapyrrolic bile pigment, Stercobilin. It is the chemical responsible for the brown color as an indication of human fecal malaria.
