There is always an relation between physical and mental health,
though the physiology of this physical body and mental system may
distinct, but the activities and functions are interdependent. Most
of the occasion mental health rely on physical health of the
individual and the problems in the mental health also affects the
external function of the physical body.
So, In most of the sense physical health and mental health are
directly proportional, if ones affected it will affect the other.It
can be seen in following examples;
- When we are doing Exercise our physical body gets more work
done, our cells are activated, energy are produced and utilized and
our muscles get stronger and it will be very useful for physical
health , on the other hand during exercise there are certain
chemicals like endorphins are secreted in our body which are very
essential for mental well being and individual mental health.
- On taking diets and eating different kinds of foods gives us a
good nutrition and vitamin to our body. These minerals and
nutrition are very responsible for metabolism and growth. so foods
play an important role in advancing the physical health of an
individual, but on the other hand it also helpful to secrete
different kinds of hormones and neurotransmitters which are very
important for mental functions of the individual. So the food that
we eat is very useful for the mental health too.
