Years ago in Seattle I worked for an insurance company with just one Jewish employee, who was a good friend of mine. He invented Jewish holidays, taking days off several times a year. As the only other employee at all familiar with Judaism, I could have tattled on him or kept silent and been disloyal to my employer. I kept silent. Was that the ethically correct choice?
NO, it was not an ethically correct choice as by taking leaves several times a year, the Jewish employee was not being loyal to the employer who was not informed for the same. By not informing anybody and being kept silent, I did not show a loyal response towards my employer. The employer's trust must be taken seriously and be returned with loyalty. By not saying anything, I took a standby which I also became a part of the disloyal behavior shown by the Jewish employee.
