Introduction:
something called as the '6 R's', which stands for right resident, right medicine, right route, right dose, right time, right to refuse. As well as nurses are also urged to do the three checks; checking the MAR, checking while drawing up medication and checking again at bedside. It is important to check for allergies as well before administration. Soon after medication administration, the patient should be assessed, and they should also be educated on what they are supposed to be given.
Why is it important for nurses?
as long as nurses continue to recognize problems and steadfastly careful on patients and their practice. Nurses should be taken the time to identify and address sloppiness in their work place and in other professionals. Confrontation is not that easy for nurses. Nurses would rather try to fix it themselves. This system only perpetuates others’ poor practice and allows them to assume responsibility for all. This is not there job. There allegiance is to there patients.
