ANSWER -

Angina is a chest pain or discomfort caused when the heart doesn't receive enough blood and oxgyen flow to the heart muscles.

There are mainly three different types of angina seen commonly-

  • Stable angina
  • Unstable angina
  • Variant angina

In the case study, Mr Jones was admitted in Emergency department due to chest pain. This chest pain was due to stable angina, which is a common type of angina. Stable angina happens when heart works harder than usual, this can be easily recovered by rest and medications.

In the case study, we see that Mr. Jones experienced stable angina with an insufficient blood flow to the heart this lead to myocardial ischaemia resulting in Unstable angina.

Unstable angina is caused due to insufficient blood flow and oxygen to the heart, its more dangerous than stable angina, it can lead to heart attacks.
