There are numerous challenges in healthcare. One of the biggest issues right now is lack of talented/qualified staff. For example, in the dental field, hygienists were fairly plentiful and assistants were in short supply. Now, hygienists are critically low - why? - COVID - hygienists are leaving the field because of the additional stress, they don't want to have to wear all of the Personal Protective Equipment required by the Board of Dentistry and the additional patient screening, etc. Some of it is fear based, comfort level or just the unknown. In any case, the reality is a shortage of hygienists.
Now we must get on the solution end and figure out how to recruit, how to keep our current employees content and look to the future with optimism.
Thoughts?
As we all know that we are going through such a drastic situation in which a virus called coronavirus has created a pandemic situation in the whole world. It has been 4months since it's surge and has taken lives of many . The healthcare sector is the field which is striving ahrd against its because it's a pandemic and they are one who are fighting against it every day . Healthcare staffs are the warriors as they are on duty to save the life's of people being aware that it's a contagious disease with placing their life at risk because it's their duty.
Every individual is different , every staffs view point is different , some are strong enough ,some are fearful . With the hit of covid- 19 , many staffs have taken leaves die to its fear of contagious disease . And this has lead to shortage of staffs which is causing over pressure on the other staffs , some don't want to wear the heavy PPE kits as it's oversweating them and creating mess in their work .Many landlords are not allowing medical staffs to live in their flats and many other reasons .
Now the main point is how to resolve these issues :-
- First of all is to prepare the staffs by proper education about what the disease is and how can we fight it
- Counselling workshop for staffs
- Making provision of accommodation
- Provision of high quality PPE Kits
- Proper hand washing areas
- Teaching relaxation techniques to avoid mental stress
- As a reward providing a hike in salary for the time period of this pandemic situation
- Acknowledging them
