1. Acute cholecystitis is inflammation of the gallbladder, due to tapping of the digestive juice or bile in the gallbladder, causing inflammation or swelling. The normal potassium level in the body is 3.5-5.2 mmol/L. This leads to the electrolyte imbalance in the body developing the abnormality in the potassium level in the body there is increased serum potassium level in case of the Acute cholecystitis.
2. Abnormal alkaline phosphatase in case of acute cholecyctitis indicate the inflammation/damage of the biliary tract. And the abnormal or increased level of the GGT or gamma-glutamyl-traspeptidase is used as the confirmatory marker for theis inflammation i.e; acute cholecystitis. In oth cases the serum bilirubin level is increased.
3. The reason for the elevated lipase and bilirubin in acute cholecystitis formation of the comact stones in the cystihc duct , creating the obstructs triggering icreased serum bilirubin release. Increased lipase level is associated with the inflammation of the stomach or the pancreas or the gall bladder in case of the acute cholecystitis due to viral infection and associated inflammation.
