An example of everyone having a sliver of power and using it to make themselves powerful is the phenomenon of cancel culture. People on the internet can only survive with viewers, and authors can only make money if we keep buying their books.  With so many content creators in the world right in now, we as viewers/consumers each hold a small sliver of power, and if we discover that if someone is a bigot or worse we can just choose to stop supporting them.

When silent movies stopped being so silent there were actors that lost their jobs because the audience hated their voice. In a similar vein, thanks to #MeToo many agree if someone is a rapist or an abuser they don't deserve to have a career anymore. It takes more than a good voice and acting to stay in Hollywood now, you also have to be a good person. Although, cancel culture isn't a foolproof system. Some people can grab whatever they want and still be President, and Mel Gibson is still making movies for example.

Recently, people such as J.K. Rowling have come out against cancel culture, saying it's against free speech. In all this controversy though, Rowling canceled her relationship with Stephen King, so I believe that canceling is going to be around for a while and even people who don't like it will cancel an influencer or content creator. Question:

Answer:

Cancel Culture:

It is a concept that refers to opposing or withdrawing (cancelling) support for celebrities or public figure or company due to unethical practices or something considered objectionable or offensive. It widely popular on social media these days and people follow or unfollow and oppose celebrities or public figure or company and cancel support. These days its also popular in corporate and became the vital part of corporate culture and pushing to the companies to develop a diversify corporate culture where every one work without any discrimination.

How should we do?

Every people has some legal and natural right like, freedom of speech, freedom of work, freedom of thought, freedom of opinion, freedom of life etc. Every people has different value, belief system and social culture and thought, react or work and live the life accordingly. We should respect the the other's value, belief system and culture and their right as a responsible human being because other's rights are our responsibilities.

But when we feel that other's actions, opinion or work affecting our values or belief system or social culture then its our right to stand-up against it, it is our legal and natural rights. To oppose the wrong things is also our responsibility as a human being or a civilized citizens or people. But when we disagree with the anything and oppose it, its doesn't mean we hate them.

So, so I believe that canceling is going to be around for a while and even people who don't like it will cancel an influencer or content creator" and i am fully agree or disagree with this answer.

Thank You
