1. What is the difference between STAGING and GRADING of tumors? How does it relate to the types of tissue involved (HINT: hyperplasia, dysplasia)? Why do your doctors need to have this information?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Answer)

Grading determines the degree of abnormality of the neoplasm. Grading is the process of measurement of tumor on the bases of abnormalities of the tumor cells and tissue when seen under a microscope.

Staging considers the degree of spread.
staging is the process in which the extent of developed cancer is growing and spreading is measured.

When there is uncontrollable and continuous growth of newly grown abnormal tissue. That is known as tumor. A new growth of abnormal tissue that is often uncontrolled and progressive. Therefore through grading and staging we can know about the type of tissue involved.

Doctors need to have this information because they can treat accordingly like if it is hyperplasia then the doctors may get an idea if the state is inital or not. And they can get with the treatment accordingly.

Hope this helps. Please do the thumbs up. Thanks in advance. Have a great day ahead.
