Report formats in Healthcare:

Healthcare refers to the management, prevention and treatment of illness or the preservation of mental and physical well being through the services offered by the Medical , nursing and allied health professions. Healthcare reporting is the process of making health care reports , that can help the hospital to offer the information on health status of individual patients, to reduce errors, to reduce expenses and to help patients by providing the importance of healthy life style measures etc.

Three different Report formats used to evaluate the performance in healthcare reporting:

* Graphic formats:

Graphic refers to 'drawn ' or ' Pictorial'. Graphic formats are used to report complex medical data in an easy way to remember and /or some times in a funny way. Graphic formats, including visual story telling method can greatly help for Health education as ' people remember what they see ( 80%), than what they heard ( 20%).

Example of Healthcare data , reported in graphic format:

Awareness regarding COVID 19 preventive measures: A set of number of cartoons, that display a the use of mask , hand hygiene, social distancing , with appropriate and funny conversation/ quotations.

* Charts : Charts can be used as a record of patient' s diagnosis , care instructions and recent history. Graphs also can be used in charts. Graphs are diagram displaying data. It shows the relationship between two or more quantities or measurements. Three types of graphs are used for reports , they are pie graph, bar and line graph.

Example: Patient's case charts ( that contains patient's medical data).

Graphs: are used in expressing the relationship between facts and figures.

2 Pie graphs, that shows the prevalence of lung cancer among smokers and non smokers community.

Bar graph that shows the ' use of smartphone in health care ' by different professionals.

* tables: Tables or the tabular form of data used in healthcare for the following purposes :

- to display values

- to compare values

- to check specific values.

Table should have proper labels , in simple language columns and raws should be described .

Example: A table, that displays ' International classification of diseases '.

A Lab report , that consist of a table that contains specific information about the test conducted, normal values and patient's values.
